A Bus Ride For Ellie

Well, since I was the chaperon on this event, I'm getting to blog for the first time. (It's Dan, if you were wondering).

So Ellie's Great-Grandpa Dan has been a bus driver in the Lapwai school district for 30 years and if any of you country-minded people saw the majority of his route, you'd know why. :) With that experience comes the trust of his eldest granddaughter (Nik) and hence a scheme was concocted to have his eldest GREAT-granddaughter have her first bus ride with her favorite Great-Grandfather.

We packed a "snack" in Ellie's new Dora The Explorer lunch box and were ready to get going. (For those of you keeping score at home, we had to leave at 6:30 AM to meet grandpa. Ellie got up on her own at 5:45AM!)

Getting on the bus was HARD work, but in the end it was worth every minute!
